During this excursion you will see all the Kiev most beautiful churches at once: St Sofia Cathedral, St Andrew Church, St Michael Cathedral, a few small Podil Churches. Cave Monastery Kiev Pechersk Lavra Here you will go underground and see a system of caves early Christian monks dug in Kiev hills. There they took refuge during Tatar invasions, prayed and buried their dead. In the niches there are still a few mummified real bodies of monks who had lived a holy life. Kiev history is closely connected with Jewish community. There always have been beautiful synagogues and successful Jewish businesses in Kiev. Many outstanding Jewish personalities lived and worked here: Golda Meir, Ephraim Katzir, Sholom Aleichem, Ilya Erenburg, Vladimir Horowitz and Reinhold Gliere. Bessarbka market, Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Regional Hospital were constructed in Kiev due to Jewish patrons. Some of the pages of Jewish history in Kiev are tragic like Babiy Yar. You will walk Sagaydachnogo St. and listen to the tales how ordinary people lived and worked in Kiev a few centuries ago. Hydropark Island Here, your guide will rent a small boat for you and you can try rowing yourself at Dnepr River. Then the guide will leave you and you can sun bathe and swim in the pool at elite Hydropark sun beach called Sun City. (!) Kiev Water Museum Water Museum is located in a picturesque park in Kiev Center. It is an interesting place to visit for both adults and children. Here you can see giant soap bubbles, unusual fish, water towers, small waterfalls and many other exhibits connected with water. You will also learn how the water is prepared for home use and see how the ice-boxes melt. Kids will be able to play with soap bubbles, change the river flow and look at the live fish. You will go to a small village 11 km from Kiev to the ethnic House-Museum called Khata Savky (Savka's House). Its hospitable owner collected inside it numerous ancient household items and made a museum out of it. You can not only see what items Ukrainians used traditionally, but also try to hammer some iron thing. Savka’s wife will offer you rich Ukrainian dinner with traditional borsch, vareniks and pies and you will listen to the stories how Ukrainians lived, celebrated holidays and worked before. You have hardly seen so many ostriches at once! During your tour at the ostrich farm you will learn many interesting facts about those creatures. Blue Lake It is a beautiful and clean lake not far from Kiev where you can sunbathe on white sand and swim in the lake. Live music at Kiev art cafes Kiev has a number of art cafes where regular live music concerts take place and young musicians want to show their talent to general public. Go carts Do you like high speed, the feeling of wind on your skin and the exciting desire to get first to the finish? Then you can try to go carts! Paintball That’s a real challenge where you can feel like a real soldier in a war, shooting, attacking and hiding behind the trees and special wooden constructions. You can’t be hurt in this exciting game, because you shoot with paint balls. Both men and women can play. You will be given a special khaki suit, a protective mask and a gun. That is a full one-day tour. In the beginning you will ride northwards from Kiev to the border of the “exclusion zone”, pass the checkpoint “Dytyatky” on the border of 30-km zone (estrangement zone and compulsory resettlement), then tnter the “exclusion zone”. Then you will visit the site of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Station – an enterprise where more than 5000 staff was employed. You will be able to see the “Sarcophagus”- concrete and steel shelter which covered radioactive masses and debris left after the explosion, then go to the ghost town Prypyat’ all 47.500 inhabitants of which had to leave their homes the next day after the accident. You will see its abandoned apartment blocks, schools, hotels, kinder gardens. After lunch you will visit the village Paryshiv, Opachychi, Kupovate, meet with the self-settlers, elderly people who didn’t want to leave their own places and refused to resettle.
